ABC Swim - Pools

We use pools where the temperature is kept at 30 degrees or above which helps baby and you to relax and get the most out of your lesson together so you are not concentrating on keeping warm. Young babies cannot fully regulate their own body temperature and can get cold quickly. So for young babies we recommend they wear a wetsuit or baby snug as well as their double nappy system.

Pool
The pool is kept at a minimum of 30 degrees and is 25 metres long by 10 metres wide with a depth ranging form 1.2 metres to 3 metres. We have use of the whole pool but stay in the shallow end. Please note there is strictly no food or drink allowed on pool side with the exception of bottled water.

Changing Facilities
Both male and female changing rooms are located downstairs and are very spacious with both cubicles and open changing areas.

Parking
Parking is available behind the Cripps Centre accessible from the Bedford Road via white gates, if this is full then you should park across the road at the Midsummer Meadow car park. From the Cripps car park either: follow the steps up, go under the arch and round to the front of the building into reception. Or once you are familiar with the pool go through the back door into the old store room where you can leave your pushchair. Please then remove your shoes and then turn right onto poolside and go up the steps at the end into the changing rooms. Please be aware you will be next to the pool and that poolside may be slippery.

Bar
Upstairs is a bar where you can relax before or after your swim with a coffee and snack and there are also vending machines near reception as well as a cash point.

Pool
The pool is kept at a minimum of 30 degrees and is a freeform pool with a depth ranging from 1 metre to 1.5 metres. Please note there is strictly no food or drink allowed on pool side with the exception of bottled water.

Changing Facilities
Both male and female changing rooms are located on the right as you enter the club and exit next to the pool with both cubicles and open changing areas. Please bring any items of value onto poolside and please do not leave bulky car seats or equipment in the changing areas; bring onto poolside.

Parking
Spacious parking is available outside the hotel; enter through the barriers. From the car park walk back up to the hotel entrance and through the automatic doors. Walk past reception on your right towards the back and through the door on the right marked “Leisure club”. Follow corridor and turn right at the end through to the leisure club.

Coffee Shop/Bar
Opposite the hotel reception is a coffee shop and bar and after your class you can purchase a “Fuel Card” £4 from Bodysense and receive 20% discount at the coffee shop and use the pool from 12 until 3pm!

Signing In
On entering Bodysense please sign in on the register at the desk before getting changed.

The pool is kept at a minimum of 30 degrees and is 20 metres long by 6 metres wide with a depth ranging form 1 metre to 2 metres. Please note there is strictly no food or drink allowed on pool side with the exception of bottled water.

Changing Facilities
Both male and female changing rooms are located next to the pool. From the car park go up the steps and enter the building via the black door (there is a ‘swimming pool’ sign on the wall at the top of the steps). Turn immediate left and follow the corridor to the end, though the door and turn right. The female changing room are first on the right and the male changing rooms at the end. Please bring any items of value onto poolside and please do not leave bulky car seats or equipment in the changing areas; bring onto poolside.

Parking
Spacious parking is located outside the swimming pool building (also by the outside sports courts).Turn left from St Johns Road into the Gateway School complex. Keep left and follow the road down and around the school perimeter (there are 15mph signs along this road). Follow the road to the end to the car park.

Pool

Directions and Parking
From Junction 15 of the M1 head along the A508 towards Northampton, immediately on your left you will see The Hilton Hotel, take the slip road on your left and then turn first left into the hotel. If the barrier is down take a ticket and proceed straight forward along the left side of the hotel following signs for Livingwell Health Club. Park near the health club and enter through the main health club door.

Go straight forward and through the next set of doors to the reception desk on your left in front of the gym. Tick your name off on the register and ask for a pass to allow you access to the changing rooms.

Changing Facilities
Go back towards the entrance and just next to the entrance you will find a door to the changing rooms on your left, use the pass card to enter.

Lockers are available to use with a £1 coin (returned after use). PLEASE NOTE that towels are not provided by The Hilton Hotel. Please change and shower before proceeding past the showers and out along the corridor to the pool a few minutes before your lesson commences. We will be using the side of the pool by the spa bath and main steps into the pool. Please wait on poolside until you are told to enter.

Pool
The Venue at Billing Aquadrome is a large naturally lit swimming pool. It has a depth 1.2meters and is kept at 30 degrees. We have part use of the pool and run lessons from the area which can seen through the viewing window. So before or after your lesson you can relax in one of the comfortable sofas and enjoy a coffee or snack from the bar and servery.

Changing Facilities
On entering the venue go to reception on the right and sign yourself in on the register and proceed through the double doors and the changing rooms are located on the right. There are lockers with £1 refundable. Once changed proceed to the showers and once showered enter the pool down the steps. Proceed by the edge of the pool to the lesson area. Please leave car seats in the space along wall on poolside. Buggies, if you need to bring them in please leave in the café area by machines.

Parking
Ample parking is available in front of the complex and is due to be tarmaced before Christmas. If during this time you have difficulty parking please park around the back of the building on the gravel area until work is completed. Access Billing Aquadrome via the security gates – please stop at the guard and let him know you are swimming with Active baby Company at the leisure complex.

Coffe Shop/Bar
We highly recommend the coffee bar and servery for snacks and meals from £1.30 and Paninis from £2.45. If you are purchasing food and drink then you can make use of the soft play area when it’s not being used by a party or function and similarly after your lesson if the pool play area is not busy you can stay for a few minutes and play here too.

Other
Billing Aquadrome is operational for 11 months of the year and closed from January 6th to February 6th – therefore for this pool only term dates will be different. For other pools we generally run 6 week courses over 6 terms a year, so 36 weeks a year, however for Billing only the terms will be structured differently; some longer than others and we run for only 32 weeks a year. However with such fantastic facilities on offer we are sure you will agree that the venue offers more than just a swimming lesson but a chance to meet friends and relax in a great environment and more than makes up for the slightly quirky terms.
